Myway Plus Corporation Motor Evaluation System: Collaboration between NEDO and Technology Research Association of Magnetic Materials for High-Efficiency Motors (MagHEM)

New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and Technology Research Association of Magnetic Materials for High-Efficiency Motors (MagHEM) adopted pMOTION, Myway Plus'Motor Evaluation System, in a magnetic bearings equipped, high precision motor loss analyzer.

High Precision Motor Loss Analyzer System Requirements

The system consists of a motor bench with 2 motors. The test motor is driven by inverter emulator while load motor by load inverter. The power supply to the inverter and emulator are from converters and battery emulator. pMOTION is the combination of battery emulator and inverter emulator.

Besides the fulfilment of inverter's specifications,

② Mapping ability of motor drive
are widely evaluated.

① Possibility of motor drive with personal control program

The Motor Evaluation System, pMOTION, is fixed together with Digital Control　System, PE-Expert 3, as the controller. In future, the system can be driven with MagHEM control program. PE-Expert 3 has been widely used in different research facilities. The controller uses multiple functions for inverter control, thereby reducing the time for writing control program. With the highly accredited Integrated Development Environment, a safe debug environment is deployed for Power Electronics and Motor Control technology.

② Mapping ability of motor drive

The maximum torque and efficiency map data is automatically generated from motor drive data. In order to obtain the map data, numerous data are required to be collected and computed. pMOTION is capable of collecting the data automatically and generating the map file, thereby greatly reducing man-hours.
